LCSD’s Attendance Challenge Winner Announced

Congratulations to Southeast Middle School for being named as LCSD’s #challenge39 winner. This marks the second year the school has won the district-wide attendance challenge. Southeast Middle clinched the title after reporting 97.5% average daily school attendance for October and November 2018.

“It’s exciting to me that you all want to come to school,” said SEMS Principal Brittany Chaney. “Our school is incredible because even on the Monday after the challenge was over we had 98% attendance. We appreciate you all!”

The Lauderdale County School District started the #challenge39 in 2017 as a way to encourage regular school attendance.

Here's a list of the top ranking schools, and what additional funds they will receive for the 2018-2019 school year:

1. Southeast Middle -          97.5% ADA = $2,000 reward

2. West Lauderdale Middle - 96.47% ADA = $500 reward

3. West Lauderdale High -    96.21% ADA = $500 reward

4. Northeast Elementary -    96.16% ADA = $500 reward
