We want to hear from you. The LCSD is working with the Mississippi Department of Education to gather data on technology access, skills, and the technology environment on each of our campuses. Please take a few minutes to fill out the following survey. The responses will be used to understand the connection between technology use and student achievement. This year’s spring chorus concert at Northeast High was extra special. Click on the video to see why. Also, don’t forget to come out and see the chorus in action at the LCSD Arts in the Park at the Mississippi Arts and Entertainment Experience from 9 AM until noon on Saturday, May 8. The free event will be open to the public.

Believe it or not, it's already time to start preparing for the new school year. That's why 4th graders from Northeast Elementary were recently treated to a special orientation tour at Northeast Middle School. Click on the attached link for highlights.

It's Signing Day for the CHS Class of 2021. Congratulations to this outstanding group of scholars! In all, 46 out of the school's 57 seniors participated. Out of that number, 7 received scholarships for sports, two received band scholarships, and five are going to the military. Click on the attached link to hear what else makes this group so special.

Some students from Southeast High recently participated in an eye-opening exercise that focused on the dangers of drugs and alcohol. Thanks to officials from the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Department for sharing this life-saving information.

The Junior Auxiliary of Meridian is sponsoring a Youth Street Art Contest for students. Submissions must be turned in to your school by May 14. Click on the attached link for more details. Good luck to our LCSD budding artists.
