The 2023 3rd Congressional District Rural Teacher of the Year is from Southeast High. Congratulations to Mr. Kenny Watson! The award was established in 2021 by the Program for Research and Evaluation for Public Schools (PREPS); it's designed to celebrate educators in smaller schools and communities, who have a passion for teaching, learning, and making a difference. Mr. Watson will now compete for the Mississippi Rural Teacher of the Year title. We are extremely proud of him and grateful for his tireless efforts! As part of our mission to provide opportunities for student achievement, we are thrilled to offer the ACT to all sophomores and qualifying seniors for a discounted price. Not one, but two members of Tigers' basketball, along with Coach Centel Truman, have been chosen to participate in upcoming All-Star games. In fact, one of the three will be the first student-athlete from the Lauderdale County School District to compete in one of the match-ups in more than twelve years.
