We are extremely proud to announce that Mr. Kenny Watson from Southeast High has been named as the 2023 Mississippi Rural Teacher of the Year! This is a well-deserved honor. The award was established in 2021 by the Program for Research and Evaluation for Public Schools (PREPS). It's designed to celebrate educators in smaller schools and communities, who have a passion for teaching, learning, and making a difference.

It was a meeting of the minds today at the LCSD. It was a privilege to host superintendents from throughout the region for roundtable discussions on hot topics in education. Click on the attached link to learn more about the talks.

Nearly 50 students from Northeast High School were able to attend the 2023 Interview Day sponsored by the Golden Triangle Workforce Development Foundation, FORGE and East Mississippi Community College’s Communiversity. The event was created to help Career and Technical Education (CTE) high school students with the necessary skills for entering the workforce. Click on the video to learn more.
